A 63-year-old Warren Township man is accused of stabbing another man this week during a dispute, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Horton, of the 34400 block of N. Almond Road, was arguing with the 58-year-old victim at about 4 p.m. Monday near Horton's home before he allegedly stabbed him, according to the sheriff's office.

Horton is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a class 3 felony. A statement from the sheriff's office reported that he remained in custody Tuesday at the Lake County jail on $20,000 bail.

Deputies found the man with a stab wound to his chest when they arrived shortly after the altercation, according to the sheriff's office statement, which added that he was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of injuries believed to be not life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation indicated the two men "had an ongoing dispute," according to the sheriff's office.

Horton is next due in court on Nov. 28.
